My life “after” TYP – a success story from Glenda

Posted in Stories from Zimbabwe, Updates

28 July 2021

Well, firstly before I get started I need to correct the part where I had to share my life “after leaving TYP”, the fact remains that I will always be part of TYP, that’s where home is and they say home is where your heart is right?

All right, now that that’s out of the way there are just a few updates since I tied the knot and got TYP a son-in-law in October of 2018. I then added a niece and granddaughter for my family at TYP, her name is Marci Taite Beth Chigango, she is now 2 years old. She has made sure I stay on my toes but my heart is so full. God has also blessed me with a home of our own where we’ve now moved to and have started a sweet potato farming project.

Career wise, I managed to progress with my education and graduated with a Master of Science in Analytical Chemistry degree from the University of Zimbabwe last year and I have been promoted to the position of Chief Chemist at work.

Last but not least, I am now a TYP counsellor, and it’s an important role as it enables me to share my story and how I wouldn’t be where I am today had I not been given an opportunity by the Tariro family. The life teachings I learnt have helped me to become a grounded wife, mother, colleague and daughter. I will forever be grateful and I still strive to become the best that TYP raised me to be for I am still a work in progress but for now, thus far the Lord has brought me.
