Report from Zimbabwe:
Here are the proud photos of our male pigs from Pig Industry Board at the Tariro farm in the Honde Valley. The breed is called duroc and it makes good quality meat with little fat. We are collecting two pregnant females from Africa University tomorrow and the breed is called large white. I have worked out the production pattern and we should be selling 25 per month in 10 months time from these additions. Added to the current stock we can boost this to about 30 per month in the same time frame.
You will also see that our sugar beans from the first quarter has germinated. The balance of the farm has now been planted. I am very ambitious this year with the farm and I have orders for the sugar beans from various local sources.
